MDC to invest $100m in GSM network development

Belarusian GSM operator Mobile Digital Communications (MDC) is to spend $100m to develop its network in the next three years, reports E-Belarus.org.

According to E-Belarus, the operator will be buying equipment, improving technologies, and training personnel. MDC hopes the investment will increase its client base to four million subscribers by 2010. As of 1 September 2006, MDC has 2.435m subscribers.

MDC has already invested $350m in developing its network since the launch of its Belarusian operations three years ago. MDC's network currently provides coverage to 72 per cent of Belarus' territory and 91 per cent of the country's population.
