Kazakh-Byelorussian commodity circulation likely to reach $500 mln 2007: S. Sidorsky

ASTANA. September 12. KAZINFORM /Dina Yermaganbetova/ - "Following the results of 2007 the volume of bilateral trade between Kazakhstan and Belarus is forecasted to make USD 500 million", Prime Minister of Belarus Sergey Sidorsky said at the opening ceremony of the Byelorussian national exposition in Astana on Wednesday.

According to him, for the past five years commodity circulation between the two countries increased tenfold - from USD 36 million in 2001 to USD 350 million in 2006. "For six months of the current year it exceeded USD 300 million. So we have a real perspective to reach an index of USD 500 million in 2007", he added.

"Purpose of Belarus-EXPO exhibition is development of the Kazakh-Byelorussian economic relations, expansion of business cooperation, establishment of long-term contacts between companies and enterprises of the two states. About 200 Byelorussian leading companies are taking part in the exposition that will last till September 14", Mr. Sidorsky noted.

He also emphasized that Belarus was interested in participation in realization of Kazakhstan's state and regional programs on development of agriculture, roads and housing construction, machinery.
