Belarus Is Ready To Deepen Relations With Georgia

Tbilisi. September 17 (Prime-News) - Belarus is ready to deepen relations with Georgia.

Alexander Lukashenko, president of Belarus, stated about that during the meeting with Vano Merabishvili, Georgian Interior Minister on Monday.

Press office of Byelorussian president informs about that.

"We are fully committed towards restoring and deepening of cooperation with Georgia, making them much deeper as compared to the Soviet period," Lukashenko stated.

Lukashenko gave positive evaluation to Merabishvili's visit to Belarus.

According to him, trade turnover between the countries did not comply with the potential of the two countries, adding that it should increase to, at least, USD 100 million per year.

The two sides also discussed the issues of security. Alexander Lukashenko stressed his country's readiness to promote the establishment of relations in this field.
