Belarus doping case to be decided

The International Olympic Committee has announced on its official website that the doping cases of two Belarus hammer throw Olympic medalists will be decided on by mid-October.

The Belarussian athletes tested positive during the Beijing Olympic Games. The IOC said on Sunday its disciplinary committee decided to give the athletes more time to present their case.

According to the IOC's statement, the two athletes can provide further information until October 17th.

Vadim Devy-atovskiy took silver in the hammer at August's Games with a best throw of 81.61 meters and his compatriot, world champion Ivan Tsikhan, won bronze with a throw of 81.51. Primoz Kozmus of Slovenia won the gold medal.
