Chernobyl disgrace

The decision by the Belarus government to declare a worldwide ban on Chernobyl children travelling abroad is a disgrace.

More than 17,000 children have come from contaminated areas of Belarus to Ireland since 1991. Here, they received treatment and were able to rest and recuperate.

By all accounts, these children greatly looked forward to coming to Ireland and the great work done by the Chernobyl Children's Project International should be allowed to continue.
