Belarus President Lukashenko Awards Diamond Miner Alrosa VP Sergey Oulin

Belarus' President Alexander Lukashenko has decorated Sergey Oulin, Vice President of Russian diamond mining company Alrosa, with an Order of Honor by special Decree of 2 September 2008.

The award was presented to Mr Oulin in recognition of "his considerable personal contribution to developing international trade and economic relations in the diamond industry," according to the official press service of the President of the Republic of Belarus.

Dali Diamond, a leading diamond manufacturer in the region, said the distinction was evidence of Oulin's efforts to support the diamond industry in Belarus.

"Mr Oulin's continuous involvement has been instrumental not only to the success but indeed to the survival of the diamond industry in Belarus. Thanks to his vision, energy and commitment we have seen a tremendous impact on the diamond business itself, but also on the regional economy and the social fabric of this region," Dali Director Isi Morsel said in a press statement.

Mr Oulin was appointed Vice President of Alrosa in December 2007. His main responsibilities are related to the implementation of diamond sales and purchase plans.

As such, Oulin coordinates the activities of the Alrosa diamond sorting, valuation, selling and purchasing divisions. He is also responsible of the development of mutually beneficial relations with Alrosa's partners in the domestic and global markets.
