Day of Written Language makes for Belarus' spiritual, social development, Alexander Lukashenko says

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has congratulated all the guests and participants of theestivities on the Day of Belarusian Written Language, BelTA learnt from the presidential press service.

Alexander Lukashenko noted that the holiday deeply penetrated into our life, got a state status and recognition of the people as a considerable contribution to the spiritual, cultural and social development of Belarus. Reminding of the glorious past the Day of Belarusian Written Language allows facing the future with hope.

According to the Head of State, it is not by chance that the celebrations are held in Borisov, one of the ancient cultural centers of Belarus, founded in early 12th century, the venue of numerous remarkable events of the Belarusian history.

The President is confident that "the Day of Belarusian Written Language will occupy a prominent place in the cultural life of Belarus, promote further consolidation of the population based on high spiritual values handed on by the Orthodox ancestors".
