Belarus' oil refining to reach 25 million tonnes per year in near future

In the near future Belarus plans to increase oil processing from 21.5 up to 25 million tonnes per year. Almost a half of the amount will be processed by the Mozyr Oil Refinery, First Vice-Premier of Belarus Vladimir Semashko stated at a session of the company's personnel preceding the Day of the Oil, Gas and Fuel Manufacturers celebrated on September 7, reported Belta.

Vladimir Semashko outlined three main goals that should be reached within the next two or three years. Apart from increasing the volume of oil refining, the Mozyr Oil Refinery needs to improve the quality of the product, i.e. to expand the processing depth to 92-93% by 2011. It would bring additional $120 value added per tonne of the processed oil. The implementation of the project on paraxylene production will fully provide the Mogilevkhimvolokno Company capacities and bring the maximum economic effect from the processed oil within the country.
