China culture festival held in Belarus

Musicians from China kicked off a culture festival in Minsk, capital city of the Republic of Belarus on Wednesday. The event was held to celebrate sixty years of bi-lateral diplomatic relations.

The opening concert was presented by the China Broadcast Performing-Arts Troupe. The Chinese musicians played classical compositions from both China and Belarus.

Li Chuanyun, one of China's most talented young violinists, rendered a soulful interpretation of "Butterfly Lovers", which was inspired by Chinese folk opera. His performance won a standing ovation from those in attendance.

After the concert, attendees expressed their admiration for traditional Chinese music.

Culture Ministries of China and Belarus started the cultural festival ten years ago. And the event has played a key role in establishing deeper bonds between the two countries.

The China Broadcast Performing-Arts Troupe will stage three concerts in Belarus. The country is also a stop on their current East European tour. Earlier, the group traveled to Poland, and its next stop will be Romania.
