Lukashenko: Belarus ready to establish dialogue with Lithuania in all spheres

Petras Vaida, BC, Vilnius,

Belarus is prepared to establish a dialogue with Lithuanian in all spheres, President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko said in an interview to the Lithuanian media on Monday, reports the news agency of Belarus BELTA/LETA.

"We are open for cooperation and we are prepared to develop a dialogue based on mutual trust with Lithuania in all spheres," the leader of Belarus stated.

Asked about the planned visit to Vilnius, Lukashenko told that he expected "a warm meeting with Lithuania's President Dalia Grybauskaite".

"We surely have issues to talk about. It is very important to discuss bilateral relations and determine guidelines for cooperation," Lukashenko said.

The president of Belarus also noted that no barriers should be created for the relations between Belarus and the European Union.

"We have to look directly into each other's eyes and not over some "Berlin's wall". Why do the residents of Lithuania and Belarus have to look at each other precisely over it? The situation will change, I am sure of that," the president of Belarus said.
