Belarus pledges to cooperate with India in all areas

MOSCOW, Oct. 5 (Xinhuanet) -- Belarus stands ready to cooperate with India in all areas and coordinate their positions on international issues, Belarussian President Alexander Lukashenko said on Wednesday.

There are no "no-go areas" in cooperation between Belarus and India, Lukashenko told visiting Indian Vice President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat in Minsk, capital of Belarus, according to the Itar-Tass news agency.

"We are ready to cooperate with India in all areas, including the scientific, technical and military sectors," Lukashenko said. "The two countries have considerable trading and economic potential to be tapped."

The two countries share similar views on major international issues, including the reform of the United Nations, Lukashenko said.

"Belarus will continue to coordinate its stands on key international issues with India," he said.
