Budget of Russia-Belarus union to total four bln rbls, 700 mln more

ZELENOGRADSK, Kaliningrad Reg, October 18 (Itar-Tass) -- The budget of the union of Russia and Belarus will amount to four billion roubles in 2007, 700 million roubles more than in 2006, the head of the budget and finance commission of the Russian-Belarussian Parliamentary Assembly, Vladimir Nikitin, told reporters on Wednesday.

The commission meeting that considered the draft budget of the union for 2007 has ended its work in Zelenogradsk.

Three new joint programmes will be financed from the budget, Nikitin said. The funds will be used for organisation of mass production of farm machines, improvement of the system of protection of common information resources and the programme for joint activities to deal with Chernobyl disaster consequences. One billion and 200 million roubles are earmarked for the programme alone.

Other programmes may be added to these, Nikitin said.

The draft budget will be submitted to the Parliamentary Assembly in November.
