Russia, Belarus: Military Cooperation Plan
Russian Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov said Oct. 20 that the Belarusian and Russian foreign ministries have adopted a plan for military cooperation until 2009, particularly regarding the creation of common communication, navigation and air defense systems. Their discussions have been focused on developing a legal foundation for the measures, which Ivanov says will be fall within the framework of the Collective Security Treaty Organization.
