Divizion to enter Belarus, Kazakhstan, Ukraine in 2007

MOSCOW, Oct 26 (Prime-Tass) -- Russian mobile handset retailer Divizion plans to expand its operations into Belarus, Kazakhstan and Ukraine in 2007, the company's spokesman Ochir Mandzhikov told Prime-Tass Thursday.

By the end of this year, the company plans to increase the number of outlets operating under the Divizion brand to 1,000 from the current 846, Mandzhikov said.

Divizion is one of the five largest mobile handset retailers in Russia, opening its outlets only under franchise agreements.

Divizion's Managing Partner Pavel Karaulov said in September that about 35 to 40 outlets were expected to operate under the Divizion brand by the end of the year in the Belarus, Kazakhstan and Ukraine, as well as in Turkmenistan.

At the moment, Russia's largest mobile handset retailer Euroset is the only Russian mobile handset retailer operating in CIS countries.
