MINSK, October 29 (Itar-Tass) - Cuba's parliamentary delegation will arrive for an official visit in Belarus on Sunday. Ricardo Alarcon de Quesada, the speaker of the National Assembly of People's Power, leads it.

The Cuban deputies will discuss ways of deepening parliamentary cooperation at talks with the leaders of the National Assembly of Belarus, a spokesperson for the Belarusian parliament press service told Itar-Tass.

Intensive inter-parliamentary cooperation of the two countries "contributes to closer economic interaction between them," the spokesperson said.

Cuba imports tractors, trucks, bicycles and television sets from Belarus and exports coffee, fruit and nickel.

Belarus is ready to assist Cuba in the development of oil deposits and to offer oil- refining technologies.

A Belarusian parliamentary delegation paid an official visit to Cuba in February 2004. The Belarusian foreign minister visited Cuba in November the same year.
