Jewish Women's Organization in Rovno

ROVNO, Belarus - The Jewish community of Rovno has established a Women's Club. According to the director, Mrs. Rachel Schneersohn, many women who attended the inaugural event rarely participated in community activities, but the new Women's Club presented more opportunities designed to appeal to the female part of the community.

The program began with a presentation of the lives of famous Jewish women. Mrs. Schneersohn prepared a colorful presentation. After a lively discussion on the theme of the role of Jewish woman in the life and the society, all members of club received the latest issue of the popular "The World of Jewish Woman" magazine published in Lugansk.

Then the meeting turned to refreshments and light entertainment. No one wanted to be the first to leave. Community leaders hope that the new Women's League will be an important and essential component of life in the community.
