Deputy PM receives Belorussian FM delegation

Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Khiem on October 30 received Belorussian Deputy Foreign Minister Victor Gaisenok, who is on a Vietnam visit from October 29.

Deputy PM Khiem, who is also Foreign Minister of Vietnam, applauded the visit by Deputy FM Gaisenok, saying it would help deepen the fine relations between the two countries.

The Deputy PM congratulated Belarus's achievements in national construction, and expressed thanks to the Belorussian Government's assistance to Vietnamese people who are living and studying in Belarus.

He stressed the two countries' two-way trade was still modest and they should boost co-operation between businesses, develop economic, trade and investment relations to match with their potentials.

Deputy FM Gaisenok said Belarus paid attention to developing its relations with Vietnam. He also said the Vietnam-Belarus relationship should be enhanced both bilaterally and multilaterally. The two sides should further co-ordinate and support each other at international forums, especially the United Nations.

He highlighted the contributions of Vietnamese alumni at universities in Belarus to the development of the two countries' relations. (VNA)

Belorussian President to visit Vietnam

Belorussian President Alexander Lukashenko will pay an official visit to Vietnam in early December 2006. In preparation for the visit, Belorussian Deputy Foreign Minister Victor Gaisenok has paid a three-day visit to Vietnam.

Arriving in Vietnam on October 29, Deputy FM Gaisenok met with his Vietnamese counterpart Le Cong Phung on October 30. The two sides informed each other of their respective countries' situation, and discussed measures to boost their political, economic and trade relations and co-operation in international forums as well as enhance co-ordination between the two ministries.

Deputy FM Gaisenok expressed his delight at Vietnam's achievements in carrying out renovation process and national industrialisation and modernisation. Belarus always attached importance to developing relations with Vietnam, he said, expressing hope that the friendship and multifaceted co-operation between the two countries and the two ministries would be further enhanced.

The same day, Deputy FM Gaisenok was received by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Gia Khiem. (VNA)
