KGB of Belarus published book on country's secret services thousand-year history

KGB of Belarus has published a book under the title A Shield and a Sword of Fatherland, telling about thousand-year history of the country's secret service, news agency BelaPAN reports, referring to the KGB of Belarus Centre of Information and Public Relations.

According to the KGB centre, the book has been created about one year. The most part of the material is taken from various Belarus archives - National Archive, National Historical Archive and Central Archive of the KGB. Documents from archives of the FSB of Russia and Foreign Intelligence Service of the Russian Federation were also used. BelaPAN adds that chronologically the book covers the period between the beginning of the 11th and the beginning of the 21st century.
