CIS development strategy involved more concrete steps - Lukashenko

MINSK. Oct 23 (Interfax) - The documents signed at the Dushanbe summit concerning further development of the Commonwealth of Independent States will allow more concrete and specific steps to be taken, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has said.

"The concept and its implementation plan allow us to focus on something specific and to conduct a serious work of developing the CIS," Lukashenko said in Minsk on Tuesday, while meeting with CIS Executive Secretary Sergei Lebedev.

"Belarus was actively involved in the preparation of these documents," Lukashenko said.

"Belarus will not withdraw from integration processes, and you can count on our help and support," he said.

"The work is enormous and is being complicated by the relations between the CIS countries," the Belarusian president said, while congratulating Lebedev on his appointment as CIS Executive Secretary.
