Seminar on Belarus

The Nordic Council in collaboration with the Baltic Assembly are organising a seminar in Vilnius on 8 - 9 October at which Nordic politicians along with politicians from Belarus will focus on environmental issues. The title of the seminar is the role of politicians in a changing society.

Climate change is one of the challenges. How can regions co-operate to solve these problems? The question of energy efficiency and sustainable energy are expected to be raised for debate.

The seminar will be opened by the President of the Nordic Council, Dagfinn Hoybraten, Norway. Danish MP Anne Grete Holmsgaard will lead the meeting on the theme of what climate change will mean for nations and citizens.

Mikhail Poplavsky will introduce the topic. He is a member of the Standing Committee for Chernobyl Relief Problems, Ecology and Use of Natural Resources in the Belarusian parliament. A speaker from Sweden will focus on efficient energy and environmental improvements before Dagfinn Hoybraten closes the seminar.
