Larijani Urges Iran, Belarus to Use Potential Capacities to Boost Relations

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani in a meeting with the Belarusian envoy to Tehran on Sunday called on Tehran and Minsk to boost ties and cooperation by utilizing the ample intact grounds existing on both sides.

At the meeting with Victor Rybak, Larijani expressed pleasure in the growing trend of economic and industrial ties between the two countries, and said the two countries' potentials should be used efficiently to further broaden bilateral ties in line with the two nations' common interests.

The Iranian parliament speaker also underlined the significant role of inter-parliamentary cooperation in promoting bilateral ties between the two states.

Such relations would consolidate the bases of the existing friendly ties, Larijani added.

During the meeting, Rybak reiterated the importance of consolidation of friendly ties between the two nations.

He noted that the numerous engineering and economic projects now underway by the two countries would result in the further expansion of relations.

Elsewhere, the Belarusian diplomat condemned the recent terrorist attack in Iran's southeastern province of Sistan and Balouchestan which killed 42 people, including senior military and provincial officials.

Iranian parliament speaker had met with his Belarusian counterpart Barys Batura in June, during which he stressed the effective role of parliaments in expanding mutual cooperation.
