Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus agree common transit rates

In the period before 2013, Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan will agree common and much lower than now rail transit rates.

Beginning with 2015, Kazakh and Belarusian rail carriers will be allowed to cross Russia on their own trains.

Prime Minister Putin told this to the media Friday after emerging from Moscow talks with his Kazakh and Belarusian counterparts.

He also said next year's gas price for Belarus will be according to contract and duty-free oil and gas will have to wait until the Belarusians ratify agreements to reshape their Customs Union with Russia and Kazakhstan into a Single Economic Area.
