'EU membership must be Belarus' ultimate goal'

For the first time in years, the Belarusian opposition seems to be unified in its effort to remove the autocratic regime in Minsk. At a convention on Oct. 1 -2, all opposition parties elected Alexander Milinkevich as the single candidate to run against Alexander Lukashenko in the 2006 presidential elections. The Baltic Times recently met Milinkevich to speak about his chances, personal motivation and his vision of Belarus' future.
