MINSK. Nov 16 (Interfax) - A draft resolution on human rights violations in Belarus that has been offered for consideration to the UN General Assembly's 3rd Committee includes "standard pseudo-accusations" by the U.S. and Europe, the Belarussian Foreign Ministry said.
Belarussian Foreign Ministry spokesman Andrei Popov called the resolution "a standard set of hackneyed cliches" at a news briefing in Minsk on Thursday.
"We proceed from the assumption that a universal mechanism should be worked out in the human rights protection area," Popov said.
"Our logic is that not a single state can usurp the status of the most democratic one and stigmatize another state as less democratic," he said.
