Lukashenko says Belarus not hurry up to join WTO

MINSK, November 23 (Itar-Tass) - Belarus does not hurry up to enter the World Trade Organisation (WTO), Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said.

Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, Lukashenko said, "When the West, Russia and Ukraine join the WTO Belarus will be also there regardless we want it or not. Competitiveness is the main thing."

"If in Russia or Ukraine duties for cars are decreased and if they reach 5 percent instead of 30 percent, regardless we want it or not we'll buy our cars by facing tougher competition," the Belarussian president said.
