Russian nuclear equipment company Atomstroyexport has begun talks on building a nuclear power plant in Belarus, company First Vice President Alexander Glukhov said at an international nuclear conference Nov. 26. Russian and Belarusian experts are discussing a water-cooled reactor project, Glukhov said, adding that Atomstroyexport could also build nuclear plants in other Eastern and Central European countries. Belarus has said the location could be announced by mid-2008.
