Belarus, Vietnam to sign programme on cooperation for 2009-2010 in Hanoi
Belarus and Vietnam intend to sign the programme on cooperation for 2009-2010 which foresees the cooperation in political, economic, sci-tech, cultural and educational areas. The document is expected to be concluded during a visit of a delegation of representatives of Belarusian towns and regions, businessmen to Vietnam on November 2-6, BelTA learnt from Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Vietnam Alexander Kutselai.
According to him, the two countries are interested in developing the regional cooperation. A delegation of representatives of seven provinces of Vietnam has already visited Minsk. On April 7-8 2008, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko paid an official visit to Vietnam as well.
Meetings and talks during the visit of the Belarusian delegation to Hanoi will become a regular step on the way of implementation of the Belarusian-Vietnamese agreements reached at the highest level. On November 3, the Belarusian delegation will have talks with the Deputy Chairman of The Hanoi People's Committee and will sign the cooperation programme between Minsk and Hanoi which have been supporting close relations for a long time. At present, five Belarusian cities have partnership relations with Vietnamese cities.
The Belarusian Society of Friendship and Cultural Ties with Foreign Countries and the Vietnamese Society of Friendship with Foreign Countries will sign the agreement on cooperation for 2008-2013.
Representatives of the Belarusian delegation will visit various regions of Vietnam including such cities as Ho Chi Minh, Da Nang, Hai Phong and the province of Kuang Ninh where a lot of Belarusian goods are supplied.
The visit has been organized by the Belarusian organization "Twin-Towns", the Belarusian Embassy in Vietnam, the Belarusian Society of Friendship and Cultural Ties with Foreign Countries under the auspices of the Hanoi People's Government.
