Belarus President invited to visit Libya

Muammar al-Gaddafi has invited the President of Belarus to visit Libya. The invitation was made by the head of the Great Libyan Revolution during his extended negotiations with Alexander Lukashenko on November 3, reported Belta.

Muammar al-Gaddafi thanked Belarus for supporting Libya, for the friendly stance and for the intention to cooperate. "Libya has lived through a difficult period of international sanctions and it was in this period that Belarus had extended a helping hand to us," said Muammar al-Gaddafi.

He stressed, Alexander Lukashenko's visit to Libya in 2000 laid down the basis and outlined directions of the bilateral cooperation. "I've come to Minsk in order to further advance our relations. We hope to see our friend, the President of Belarus, once again in Libya and invite him," noted the head of the Great Libyan Revolution.

Alexander Lukashenko underscored he would be interested and pleased to visit Libya. "I would like to bring concrete results. Belarus will work more intensively for it. We will do our best to make Libya proud of its relations with Belarus," added the Belarusian head of state.
