Korea interested in Belarusian experience of combating illegal migration

The Republic of Korea is interested in studying the Belarusian experience of combating illegal migration, Choo Kyu-ho, Commissioner of Korea Immigration Service, told reporters in Minsk on November 20, reported Belta.

"At a meeting with Deputy Interior Minister of Belarus Anatoly Kuleshov we discussed areas of our cooperation. I hope that it will be strengthened and expanded in the future," he said.

According to Choo Kyu-ho, his country is interested in adopting the Belarusian experience in such areas as combating illegal migration and human trafficking. He noted that next year a training and research centre for migration similar to the one in Belarus will be opened in the Republic of Korea with assistance of the International Organisation for Migration. "Belarus' experience is very important for us," Choo Kyu-ho added.

The foreign guest said that at the meeting the sides discussed the illegal migration in Belarus and the Republic of Korea and exchanged opinion. Speaking about his impressions about Belarus Choo Kyu-ho said that he fell in love with Minsk at first sight and that he would like to see the local sights.
