Belarus To Increase Cost of Transit For Russian Oil

Beginning in 2011, the transit tariff for oil products crossing Belarus from Russian will rise 2.5 percent and will be $1.64 per ton over 100 kilometres, the Belarusian Economy Ministry reported in a news release.

The increase in the tariff is envisioned under an Economy Ministry resolution dated November 1, 2009 and was adopted pursuant to a Belarusian-Russian agreement on using trunk oil pipelines.

In July 2010, the tariff rose 12.7 percent from $1.42 to $1.60 per ton per 100 kilometres, Gazta.ru reports.
