Azerbaijani, Belarusian Emergency Situations Ministries approve action plan for 2011-2013

The Azerbaijani Emergency Situations Ministry is interested in Belarus's developments, Emergency Situations Minister Kamaladdin Heydarov told journalists in Minsk today, BELTA reported.

The ministry showed interest in suits for rescue workers, the cost of which is lower compared to Western and Russian ones. "Earlier, we bought fire suits in other countries. In future, we plan to provide our logistical base with the Belarusian goods," he said.

The Ministry intends to adopt sublayer way to extinguish oil tanks in the near future, Heydarov said.

During the visit, the sides approves an action plan for 2011-2013 to implement a cooperation agreement signed between the Azerbaijani and Belarusian emergency situations ministries in Minsk on Oct. 17, 2006. According to Heydarov, the action plan will create conditions for closer cooperation between the two countries.

He also noted the high level of training of cadets. "This year, first Azerbaijani students will graduate the Belarusian ministry's Command-Engineering Institute. They acquired knowledge and skills that are in great demand at home," he said.

In turn, Belarusian Minister Enver Bariev said the cooperation in educational and other fields between the ministries of both countries is unprecedented in its depth and efficiency, results and friendliness.

Azerbaijani and Belarusian rescue teams have a rich and fruitful history of cooperation. More than 200 Azerbaijani cadets study at the Belarusian ministry's Command-Engineering Institute. Belarusian specialists also provided technical assistance for staff training when the Azerbaijani Emergency Academy was established.
