Belarussian borders closed to those wishing to interfere in domesticaffairs - KGB head

MINSK. Dec 20 (Interfax) - People who intend to interfere in the domestic affairs of Belarus are not permitted entry to the country, Belarussian KGB Chairman Stepan Sukhorenko said on Wednesday in an interview with Interfax.

"We see a circle of people forming who actively participate in interference in our internal affairs, who are attempting to stage a color revolution in this country. We are aware of them and we simply close the border to them in order to protect them from discomfort in this country and so that they will not interfere in our lives," he said.

"Pragmatic arguments and domestic security arguments" help the Belarussian special services to establish the identity of these persons, he said.

"We know all the people who are trying to stage a revolution. If anybody comes out with any specific objectives similar to [head of Foreign Policy Committee of the Georgian parliament Givi] Torgamadze [banned from entering Belarus during the parliamentary elections in March 2006], we shall immediately find a way to put him in his place," he said.
