Putin OKs setting up Russian-Belarussian joint air defense system
MOSCOW. Dec 6 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has approved a government proposal to sign an agreement with Belarus on joint defense of the Belarus-Russia Union's airspace and the establishment of a joint regional air defense system.
The president instructed the Defense Ministry and the Foreign Ministry to hold negotiations with Belarus on this issue and sign an agreement with it as soon as the two sides go through all formalities.
