Russia grants $1,5 billion to Belarus

Today Russia has transferred $1,5 billion to Belarus as a state credit, the agreement on its allotment was recently signed in Moscow.

Belarus has applied for allotting the $1,5 billion credit for covering its energy supplies expenses in February this year. The bilateral agreement was reached during the negotiations on December 14 in Minsk, Belarus' capital. On December 20 the sides signed an intergovernmental agreement on credit. The credit is granted on easy terms, it is to be paid back during fifteen years, and the payment adjourning is five years. The credit interest is calculated at the rate LIBOR +0,75%, it a bit less than 6%.
