Lukashenko threatens to expel U.S. ambassador if sanctions applied

MINSK. Dec 30 (Interfax-West) - Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has threatened to expel the U.S. ambassador if the United States expands sanctions against Belarus.

"The moment the sanctions - severe for our economy - take effect, we'll react in the most rigorous manner in all areas: politics, economy and others. The first person to be thrown out is the U.S. ambassador," Lukashenko told the press on Sunday.
