Belarusian President on official visit to Venezuela
A wreath was laid on Friday on the coffin of Liberator Simon Bolivar by Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.
At the National Pantheon in Caracas, the Belarusian president was accompanied by People's Power Minister of Foreign Affairs Nicolas Maduro and People's Power Minister of Interior and Justice Pedro Carreno. People's Power Minister of Education Adan Chavez and other senior government officials also attended the ceremony.
During the ceremony, the anthems of Belarus and Venezuela were played, reported state-run news agency ABN.
The Belarusian president is expected to meet with his Venezuelan counterpart Hugo Chavez in order to consolidate the agreements entered into by both nations.
Luckashenko arrived on Thursday for the first time in Venezuela on an official visit in order to give geopolitical strength to bilateral cooperation and friendship.
