Belarus KGB to impose responsibility for disclosure of state secrets

In Belarus it is scheduled to introduce administrative responsibility for disclosure of state secrets through carelessness, online paper Charter'97 reports, referring to the statement of the Belarus State Security Committee (KGB) chairman Vadim Zaitsev at a session of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus. Zaitsev was presenting the draft bill On Modification and Amendments in Some Codes of Belarus Regarding Protection of State Secrets in the first reading.

The given bill offered establishment of administrative responsibility for disclosure of state secrets through carelessness, Zaitsev marked. He also briefed the members of parliament that the bill offers establishment of identical terms of criminal punishment for disclosure of state secrets for both, military personnel and civilians, Charter'97 adds. According to news agency Interfax-Zapad, the draft law was approved in the first reading.
