WASHINGTON (Dow Jones)--The International Monetary Fund has approved release of $688 million for Belarus as part of an existing loan package.
The approval came as the IMF's executive board on Friday completed a third review of Belarus's economic performance under the loan program.
The financial package amounts to about $3.63 billion. The approval of the third review enables immediate disbursement of about $688 million, bringing total disbursements under the program so far to about $2.88 billion, the IMF said.
