Niger seeks partnership with Belarus on higher education

The Niger State Commissioner for Higher Education, Peter Sarki, has said that the state government would collaborate with the Republic of Belarus to improve higher education.

Mr. Sarki, who said this in Minna at teh weekend, said: "We found out that education in Belarus is practical and that they have a school of agricultural mechanisation," he said.

``I led a six-man team to the Republic of Belarus to explore areas of collaboration between the country and Niger State Government.''

Mr. Sarki explained that in the school, youths aged 14 years and above were taught practical agricultural mechanisation with a tractor positioned in the classroom.

He listed others areas of cooperation to include staff training, trucks, bus and tractor assembling, export of cassava chips and minerals.
