Russia, Belarus Agreed On Oil and Oil Product Duties

Russia and Belarus have reached an agreement on the issue of customs duties on oil and oil products delivered to Belarus, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said at a news conference in MOscow after a Eurasian Economic Community summit.

"We have removed the duty on oil and oil products and it is very important that we lifted the duties on raw materials for our petrochemical enterprises", Lukashenko said, "The main thing is that we have given our enterprises in Kazakhstan, Russia and especially important for us, in Belarus, the ability to compete freely".

On Thursday, Russian Economic Development Minister Elvira Nabiullina told journalist that Belarus would transfer 100 precent of the export duty on oil products to Russia if it ratified documents on the Single Economic Space and removed Russian duties on oil.

"We will provide oil to Belarus without duties and the duties on oil products will be taken at the outside border and transferred to the Russian budget", she said according to Interfax.
