Over One Million Tons of Crude Shipped To Belarus Via Odessa

The volume of crude shipped from Venezuela to Belarus via Ukraine's port in Odessa has exceeded 1 million tons, BELTA learned from the Ukrainian Transport Ministry.

The million-ton mark was reached after the Paramount Hanover tanker was unloaded on December 6. The tanker was carrying 78,100 tons of crude.

Another two tankers with Venezuelan crude destined for Belarus are to be unloaded by the end of the year.

The agreement on supplying Venezuelan crude to Belarus was signed in March 2010. The first shipment was made in April via the Odessa port.

As reported earlier, regular shipments of Venezuelan crude through Ukraine are scheduled to start in 2011 along the ODessa-Brody pipeline.
