Opposition members injured in government building storm

Several Belarusian opposition members were injured in clashes with police when they tried to storm the government's building.

At least three people were injured, a RIA Novosti correspondent said.

Activists tried to storm the Belarus government's building and broke several windows. They took shields and batons from police. After that Belarus special police units forced them several meters away of the building.

Belarus presidential candidates Nikolai Statkevich and Andrei Sannikov demand police to start talks.

Police are condoning off Independence Square where thousands of opposition members are holding a rally in protest of Sunday's presidential election.

Interior forces have arrived at the site to disperse the crowd.

Latest exit poll results showed that Alexander Lukashenko has secured victory in the election with over 70% of the vote.
