Belarus may outlaw protesting opposition

The Belarusian Justice Ministry does not rule out the outlawing of the political parties that provoked unrest in Minsk on December 19th.

This came in a statement by the Belarusian Justice Minister Victor Golovanov.

Belarus has 15 registered political parties.

The members of these parties launched mass-scale protests after the presidential election returns had been made public on the 19th of December.

The protesters attempted to seize the building of the national government. Police arrested more than 600 of them, including several presidential candidates.
