Belarus and Azerbaijan to start swap oil deliveries in the first quarter of 2011

Baku, Fineko/abc.az. Russian -Belorussian agreements on conditions of oil delivery and petroleum products sales have not influenced the Azerbaijani-Belorussian agreement on mutual oil deliveries on swap conditions.

Today at press-conference in Baku Belarus's Ambassador in Azerbaijan Nikolay Patskevich claimed that organizational and technical issues will be completed in the first quarter and counter oil supplies will start.

"Swap scheme will allow us to save tens of dollars on the transportation of our countries' oil to destination markets"-N. Patskevich said.

Under the scheme Belarus will transfer the oil produced in Venezuela to Azerbaijan in the Caribbean basin and get Azerbaijani oil in Ukraine. Belorussian oil refineries expect Azerbaijani oil already in March of 2011.

"In November we already made oil delivery via Odessa -Brody pipeline in a test-regime "-N. Patskevich noted.

Speech is of about 5-10 million tons oil delivery per year.
