New Iranian cars on display in Belarus

Iran's top automaker, Iran Khodro, is set to present a new car at the country's fourth exclusive exhibition in Minsk, a manager says.

The showcased models will include custom-made Samand LX, Soren ELX, and Runna, International Relations Manager Hassan Bananej said in a statement on Tuesday.

Iranian officials are expected to open the exhibition on December 9, Bananej said, adding that since the company had trading partners in the Belarusian capital, the exhibition was expected to "play a significant role in developing industrial cooperation between the two countries."

IKCO and Unison, its Belarusian trading partner, began their cooperation in 2005 and launched a Samand production line in Minsk three years later.

Iran's potentiality in automotive, food, and textile industries as well as construction raise the possibility of cooperation with Belarus, which has special capabilities, the statement added.
