Sweden approves plans by the European Union to deny entry to top officials in the administration of the Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko. It is also rolling up economic and cultural cooperation with Belarus.

He said Lukashenko is attracting sanctions against his country by suppressing democracy. He also pointed out that these sanctions bite and have already led to a huge public deficit in Belarus.
