Azerbaijan, Baku, 7 February / corr TrendCapital S.Aliyev / During this month Azerbaijan will receive component units for the assembly of MAZ trucks at the Ganja automobile plant and production of the automobiles will continue, said the Head of the Ganja Car Factory, Khanlar Fatiyev on 7 February.
The senior management of the Ganja automobile plant and a Belarus enterprise, who are currently visiting Azerbaijan, held a meeting on 6 February. Fatiyev said that in accordance with the agreement reached during the talks, over the next six months there are plans to establish service centers for MAZ automobiles in the territory of Azerbaijan on the basis of the Ganja Plan's Service Center. There are also plans to export ready-made products to nearby countries.
Over the past year 200 MAZ automobiles were sold in Azerbaijan. This year there are plans to produce 350 automobiles in this plant.
During the talks the parties reached an agreement on the assembly of communal equipment based on MAZ automobiles. The costs of tractors vary between AZN 13,000 and AZN 35,000. The contract to assemble and sell Minsk tractors and cars in Azerbaijan was signed at the end of November 2006 in Minsk ( Belarus).
The Ganja Car Factory is capable of assembling nearly 1,000 trucks and 2,000 tractors per year.
