Europe's top human rights watchdog has condemned the authorities in Belarus for executing three prisoners earlier this week.
Council of Europe Secretary General Terry Davis said Minsk had shown a "blatant disregard" for human values.
The three convicted inmates - Syarhey Marzaw, Ihar Danchanka and Valerii Gorbatii - were executed on Tuesday, officials in Belarus said.
Belarus is Europe's only nation that that is not in the Council of Europe.
The 47 member states have all banned the death penalty or imposed a moratorium on it.
"I am saddened by the stubborn determination of the Belarus authorities to isolate their country from the rest of Europe," Mr Davis said.
"With the three executions... they continue to flaunt their blatant disregard for the human values and achievements common to all other European countries," he said.
