Today the president of the Republic of Armenia Robert Kocharyan called an urgent meeting with the leader of president's administration, the chief prosecutor, the heads of police station, national security, and the department of civil aviation, and the deputies of foerign affairs connected with the aircraft accident of Yerevan-Minsk flight. The airplane crafted belonged to "Belavia" company.
According to the press and public relations department of the president's administration, the head of the civil aviation department presented the accident details to the president. He said that the accident happened at 4:15 at night; the Canadian airplane belonged to "Belavia" company. The airplane did not manage to start the complete flight when it turned down on its left side and a fire started.
The security service and fire brigade managed to take out the 18 passengers and 3 staff members. There are no fatalities. The passengers got the first medical treatment and went hope. Six of them are in hospital, but there are no life treats to them.
The president gave an order to the minister of health to make appropriate arrangements to take care of the injured. He also ordered to start an investigation with inter-state aviation committee with the participation of Belarus and Canadian representatives.
