Iran is planning to build a tourism village in Belarus in an attempt to expand cultural ties between the two countries.
During his latest visit to the former Soviet republic, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's chief of staff announced Tehran's decision to build the Persepolis tourism village in Belarus.
"We have planned to build a tourism village and hotel in the best region of Belarus in a bid to promote the tourism exchange between the two countries," Esfandiar Rahim-Mashaei said.
"The Iranian private sector will join the government to invest in the ambitious project," Rahim-Mashaei said.
"The project will be developed in a tourist destination in Minsk and include a shopping center, a hotel and a tourism complex," he added.
